From its origins in steel ingot production, the company has emerged as India’s largest producer of low and medium carbon ferro manganese. With exports spanning 25+ countries, we stand proudly among India’s top five Ferro Alloy exporters.
Our diverse product portfolio includes all grades of ferro manganese and silico manganese, with an annual production of approximately 100,000 MT of ferro alloys, including approximately 60,000 MT of refined ferro manganese via the CLU route.

Our range encompasses Medium and Low Carbon Ferro Manganese in all Grades, with a manganese content spanning 70-84%. Achieving extra low carbon content of up to 0.10% is made possible through the advanced CLU converter.

High Carbon Ferro Manganese, encompassing grades of 70-78% Mn, is produced via Submerged Electric Arc Furnace.

At BFCL, our specialization lies in producing premium-grade low-carbon MS billets. These are cast within our steel unit equipped with an induction furnace with a Continuous Casting Machine.

Founded by first-generation entrepreneur Dr. Hari Krishna Budhia, BFCL embodies over five decades of excellence in the steel industry. After earning his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Colorado, USA, in 1971, Dr. Budhia, together with his late brother Mr. A.R. Budhia, established a steel manufacturing facility near Ranchi. Guided by his vision and leadership, BFCL has evolved into a globally recognized name, exporting ferro alloys to more than 25 countries.
