In contrast, Waste Heat Recovery (WHR) technology produces clean, renewable electricity from industrial hot gases—ensuring consistent power generation, independent of climate variations.
At BFCL, our key sustainability initiative focuses on captive power generation, which significantly reduces our dependence on conventional power sources. By harnessing waste and hot gases from our sponge iron kilns, we efficiently convert industrial byproducts into valuable energy. This not only optimizes resource use but also minimizes greenhouse gas emissions, reinforcing our commitment to environmental stewardship.
BFCL’s newly commissioned captive power plant, with 37 MWH capacity, is fully operational and meets 100% of the electricity requirements for our Ferro Alloy Unit. This achievement underscores BFCL’s commitment to environmental responsibility and positions the company as a leader in sustainable industrial practices.
